TRAVEL (RECENT)
My recent travel to Jiu Zhai Gou
I made that trip to Jiu Zhai Gou in March assuming it would be same as boring as other lake places with the lakes completely different from the pictures shown. The same I supposed the trip would be as quick as other places, only taking half a day to look at.
Then I went on the small bus with my family, with the romantic music and guiding audios traveling along. There are many lakes, ponds, along the way as the audio said that it was listed inside the world heritage list. Before, it was a place where a lot of troops of people lived, in small villages.
The weather there was comfortable. Jiu Zhai Gou is in Si Chuan, which in theory is a hot place, but in cause of the high altitude and the lakes inside it, if formed a temperature just right.
Numerous lakes formed this place, so we picked some to look at mainly. All of them were even more blue and clear than shown on the pictures. There was one that I liked the most which was called Wu Cai Hu, translated directly will be colorful lake. The water was only in blue mostly with a faint color of light green inside. It was clear that the branches and trunks of past trees that fell into the water could be seen, and it was clear that they have been corroded. The color was formed by the mountains and trees that surrounded the lake, with green and pints of yellow that where reflected on the lake.
Animals could be seen around. I was told that beaver like animals could appear on frozen water in winter. I was able to see a few ducks swimming in the water. But there could be more, but I wasn’t lucky enough to see more.
The food there is a quite different from the Si Chuan food, even though the place is in the area. The people there mostly believes in Zang culture. Their buildings, food there are points to Zang. I had the chance to eat “Hot Pot” there which actually tastes better than I supposed. They really do love meat, a large factor of the things in the hot pot are different kinds of meat. And most importantly, not all of their dishes are spicy, which is real friendly to visitors.
An advice if you go there, is to just focus on the view, but not picturing too much. The view you see by your eyes look much better than the photos. I did learn how to photograph things though, cause I tried to make my photos look like something similar to what I saw, but failed.
Therefore, I really do recommend anyone to go there. The altitude is not high (3000) and the temperature is just right, and has a really good view, which may raise the probability of being entertained along the trip. 🤭
