The Hibernator Alpha 0.4.0 Pre-Release 3

Today, Pre-Release 3 for 0.4.0 dropped. This new update bumped the number of modes to 4, adds more items, adds scaling to Classic, fixes 2 critical bugs, and is huge! (Note: I also updated the game’s main page to reflect changes)

 

Additions

– WD-59: Is a consumable. Icon: 🛢️. Works like WD-40 – Silences the current tile the player is on, and all adjacent tiles, then, silence all adjacent tiles to all the already silenced tiles. All of the affected tiles are silenced for 30 sec. It has a chance of spawning from random item tiles. Has a hissing sound when used

– Teleporter: When used, teleports player to a random air cell

– Added sound effects for the new items

– Speedrun Mode: Only one level, uses Classic Level 1 generation and behavior. Only scores time.

– Infinite Levels Mode: Similar to Classic but infinite levels. Level display shows “Level x”. No max level. Seed rerolls each level. Uses linear scaling.

– Added two new level generation algorithms for Classic mode

– Added exponential scaling to Classic mode

– Added a nested high score menu

– Added pagination to Achievements screen

– Added an Achievements summary showing unlocked count and total points at the top of the Achievements screen

 

Changes

– Changed badges of Classic Mode and Survival Mode

 

Fixes

– Fixed Classic Mode’s level 1-3 are identical oversight

– Fixed an issue with vending machines spawning in inaccessible areas
