The first time Iโve ever heard of the word โdark tourismโ was when I was preparing for WSCโฆ I never thought travelling to such places around the world had a specific name to them ๐ท๏ธ.
You could guess the (slight) excitement I had when I heard weโll be doing a seminar on this. If I were to be honest, this is probably the most interesting seminar. Lots of thanks to the leaders, the way they had two different perspectives from two different people to let us explore this topic is brand new, and very successful.
Now letโs share my opinion on this. Honestly I donโt see that many problems travelling to these places. You can learn history and broaden your knowledge๐ช๐ช. However, some may think itโs unethical to do so since people might disrespect the dead ones or mock the history. Everyone has biases on historical events, but itโs unethical to express it publicly as it will offend or even trigger people. Personally I think the local government should impose sanctions to people who disrespect the dark tourism spots ๐ก๐ก.
overall, I think dark tourism is cool ๐๐โโ๏ธ
