The Future of The Hibernator’s Versioning System: A Small Change for Clarity

The Hibernator is a huge accomplishment to me, but I personally think the version numbering system kinda needs an upgrade, mainly because 1. I want to deliver some more content throughout updates and not just relying on the major updates for content and 2. The game is very early in development and the new system doesn’t have any major changes. So, here’s the new system:

0.X.0 Pre-Release Y is the pre-releases for 0.X.0

0.X.0 is the major updates in Alpha stage

0.X.1-0.X.2 will deliver bugfixes and add some features from my already prepared feature-list, which mainly contains some small improvements and quality-of-life fixes, this would be “polishing” or some small stuff by public demand and typically wouldn’t be major content.

Any bugfix versions after that will be 100% bugfix (e.g. 0.X.3, 0.X.4)

Note: I’ll also be delivering holiday special versions if I have time and there’s not much workload.

That would be a bit more special in version numbering: YY.HOLIDAY (e.g. 25.XMAS, 26.HALLOWEEN)

Note: I will not be responsible for any “sus” versions appearing anywhere, mods, cracked/pirated versions or creepypastas.
