seminar reflection (Seminar 1: Literary Travel Quotes

My score was A4C6. From the seminar I learned that a journey may not necessarily be a physical journey. And journeys can give us more diverse perspectives to help us understand the world and gain more knowledge. I was quite initiative at the first two classes, but I stayed quiet during the last class. I think I should speak more during this seminar rather than thinking about what to say for a long time.

At times, I focused too much on my interpretation or idea of the topic rather than the quotes that we should be evolving in. And I also spent a lot of time during the seminar trying to find a quote that is relevant to the topic. Next time, I should write what the author wants to express at the end of every quote and label them so that I can find quotes and points that are relevant to the topic in a relatively shorter time to get a higher score.

The leaders asked us some very valuable and fun questions, for example “Between starting a journey and continuing a journey which one is harder and more important”, this question doesn’t have a definite answer, so that everyone can have more room to discuss and brainstorm. And the leaders also had a great habit of usually telling us the order to answer the question so that there would be less chaos.  But it was usually Grace who was leading the seminar, maybe the others also needed to be more initiative and lead the seminar more rather than letting Grace doing it mostly by herself.
