Seminar Reflection blog post 2 – Vincent

This times seminar was about travel and literary quotes, it was an interesting discussion where we dove deeply into the core meaning of traveling, why we travel and what values we achieve.

My performance during this seminar was nothing exceptional. I only chose to speak a couple times which made climbing the score board significantly challenging. Lack of complex analysis, connection links and counter arguments was also part of the reason for my score. I should use the upcoming seminars to practice finding the courage to speak, and think more abstractly which shall hopefully draw out more prestigious levels of thoughts and perspectives.

A question which caused a lot of debate was: Which part of a journey is the most difficult, starting it and stepping outside, or persevering in the course of action. What made this question challenging is that journeys have a variety of different kinds, therefore the goal and process of each journey differs from here to there. These questions are the type to spark debate and lead to more in depth views because there is no definite right answer.

Apart from the previous question given by the seminar leaders the other ones were also pretty thought out and unique making the whole experience of the seminar feel well planned. The bit of advice I would give the leaders is, organizing the questions a bit better, for example having related questions after each other, and displaying the questions clearly on screen instead of handwriting (hard to read).

In conclusion, this seminar was overall a well discussion with good progress, my performance can improve.
