Our final MYP ELL seminar was an enjoyable ELLmmy Awards ceremony. With a mix of meaningful and fun award categories, we nominated classmates, shared our thoughts and voted for winners, looking back on three years of ELL learning.
The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. We celebrated each other’s strengths and growth, and references to our past lessons and former teacher also brought back many memories. The leaders organized the activity well, managed speaking turns fairly and invited quiet students to join in.
Still, discussions stayed on surface, lacking in depth analysis and viewpoints.
Overall, this was a memorable experience. Though less academic than usual, it let us cherish our shared moments and brought our class closer, marking the end of our ELL unit.
