Seminar Discussion 2 Reflection

Our second seminar focused on “what makes a good blog post?” We mainly discussed two questions and analyzed an example blog.

The first question was“What can you do to make your blogs more unique?” Some people suggested focusing on word choice, structure, and organization to add a personal touch. Others felt this was too vague and argued that writing freely would naturally result in originality. This question didn’t take much time to discuss.

The second main question was “Should a blogger write what the audience wants to read, or just what they are interested in?” This was an engaging question that sparked a lot of debate and became quite intense. We spent most of our time discussing it, using Mr. Beast and the Mona Lisa as key examples. The analysis of the example blog felt a bit rushed we could have spent more time on it.

I think the leaders did a good job managing speaking turns, especially by preparing a PowerPoint with the questions on it. The example blog we analyzed was also a good choice, showing that they put significant effort into preparation. One suggestion would be to write down some key points as they come up, so it’s easier to follow along when the discussion gets intense.
