Reflection 2 – blog post

In the second seminar, we mainly talked about what makes a good blog post, in including some general suggestions and feedback on travel blog examples on the internet.

So, we mostly talked about two things: how to develop a writing style that’s totally your own, and whether being real and personal or giving readers exactly what they want makes a blog more fun to read. The style part was kinda simple, just a few separate tips, but the argument about self-expression versus reader-focused content got super intense and took up a huge chunk of time. We also quickly checked out a travel blog and figured out that short, punchy descriptions paired with really good photos make posts way more interesting. The seminar leaders did a cool thing by bringing in actual blog posts to break down, which helped a lot, but the long debate left barely any time to actually review the travel blogs properly. I also feel like jotting the main ideas on the board would’ve made it way easier to keep up with everything people were throwing out.
