Travel is the perfect chance to explore new places, discover new scenery, and also get to relax myself. Today I’d like to share mycruise trip during the May Day holiday.
My trip began at the Shanghai International Cruise Terminal. Even though I’ve been on a cruise before, the view was still shocking. The huge cruise ship looked like a floating city on the water, absolutely stunning. As soon as I boarded, I was offered a glass of pineapple juice. It tasted fresh and special, and instantly lit me up. I headed to my cabin, unpacked my stuff, and then went straight to the lunch buffet.
The buffet had an amazing variety of food: Thai dishes, traditional Chinese meals, burgers, pizza, and many more options. There was something for every taste. I picked my favorite dishes and sat down at a green table to enjoy my meal. It was one of the most satisfying meals I’d had in a long time. Mixing flavors from different cuisines felt like tasting different cultures and stories all at once. Every bite was full of rich details, making the experience very unique.
After finishing my meal, I walked around the ship to explore on my own. It was a relaxing and peaceful time. I wandered through different areas of this massive cruise boat, enjoying the rhythm of the sea and calming my mind at the same time.
As the sky gradually turned dark and the cruise left the port, I stood on my cabin balcony to watch the sunset. The sun looked like a bright ping pong ball slowly sinking into the endless ocean. Once the sun faded completely, I headed back to my room and went to sleep.
The next morning, I woke up to the ship’s broadcast announcement, starting my second day of the vacation. Our cruise was sailing toward Jeju Island, South Korea, so we would spend the whole day on the ship.
I started my day at the buffet again, enjoying a mix of Western and Chinese breakfast food. Later, I took a walk in the garden on the top deck. It was amazing that the ship could fit a whole garden onboard. I could smell fresh flowers, natural plants, and the salty sea all at once. I spotted a quiet bench in the garden and decided it was the perfect spot to write this travel blog.
Now I’m sitting here finishing my writing, but the vacation is still ongoing. I hope the rest of my cruise trip will be just as enjoyable as it has been so far.
