My trip to Melbourne

At the beginning of this year, my family and I went on a five day trip to Melbourne. On New Year’s Eve, we boarded the flight to Melbourne. The next day, after getting off the plane, I immediately took off my thick jackets to embrace the warm summer of Melbourne. In geography class, the teacher explained that the seasons in the northern hemisphere are opposite to those in the southern hemisphere. Therefore, I am readily prepared for the hot summer of Melbourne.

In Melbourne, I saw the lion dance and activities celebrating the Spring Festival in Chinatown, and there were lots of Chinese people there. I also visited koalas sleeping in the shade in the Melbourne zoo. In the University of Melbourne, I tried a crepe from their coffee shop after walking all around the school grounds. It tasted super nice. Here, I forgot all about the cold winter in Suzhou and the loads and loads of homework Ive got. Sometimes I would stroll along the sunny streets with my family and sit on the beach with them, enjoying the breeze and the hot chocolate. What attracted us the most was the beach, so we went there for four consecutive days, where we swam into the sea, with seabirds flying lightly above our heads. We took pictures of them. Sometimes the seabirds would eat from lunch boxes that has been left open by people gone for a swim. When they came back, they were often so furious they were red in the face! We also collected lots of beautiful seashells and ate icecream.

I really miss  Melbourne. I hope Ill be able to visit there again someday.
