End of Year poem. (Dedicated to all of ELL, and especially the Teachers and someone else)

(Dedicated to ALL members of ELL, especially the teachers + someone else in ELL)

Btw this is an acrostic poem, that means the first letter of each line together form a sentence.

(Try putting the first letter of each line together)

End of year poem.

I still can’t believe middle school has passed

Having started at 6th grade,
A tiny boy I was back then—
Darling, did I feel mature back then.

And yet every year I feel less so.

Long for the past I do.
Of course, I would.
Virtue of past joys of naivety,
Experiences that will never happen once more.
Long for the past I do,
Yet time moves only forward.

So, I guess I should make do,
‘Cause time moves only forward.
Happy memories have occurred in the past—
Otherwise the past wouldn’t be so desirable.
Only that I can’t change the past,
Lest I were Superman.

You showed up in 7th grade.
Except it felt like seconds ago,
And I wish time would reverse.
Right… time moves only forward.

Well, I guess that’s unchangeable.
I guess I should deal with it.
Thus, I should move on,
Happily living in the present.

You’ve been a great friend to me.
O’ sadly, not always true the other way.
Understandably, this year has been so colorful.
