First, a full size image of this mixed up thing of beauty:

The story starts with a curious Green Gatordile who was born and raised in the fetid swamps of the emerald planet Verdanta. Not all of Verdanta was murky marshy swamp. There were many different environmental habitats that housed all the weird and wonderful flora and fauna that called the planet home.
The Green Gatordiles were not a particularly advanced species from a technological perspective. They were comfortable in their swamp home and enjoyed lengthy and healthy life spans so there was no incentive to innovate. They simply relaxed and ate and mated in the warm waters and muds of their swamps.
So, how did one of these satisfied and unadventurous species end up as a half-dalek cyborg on a spaceship? Well, one day one of these creatures, a young male Green Gatordile, clawed its way up from the swamp onto the wet soil of the neighbouring jungle to investigate some unnatural loud noises that had disturbed his rest. He part slithered, part crawled across the damp ground, brushing vegetation out of his way until he suddenly saw some entirely alien polished chrome and brights lights through the trees and creepers. The curious Green Gatordile slithered across to the illuminated metallic monstrosities for a closer look.
And then mayhem broke loose. The chaos that would change the Green Gatordile’s life forever tore from one of the spaceships. A group of vaguely humanoid aliens wearing a variety of intergalactic fashions, mostly dishevelled and brandishing an assortment of high-tech weaponry rushed towards the other spaceship, pointing their guns. Some of them were limping so the Green Gatordile deduced their spaceship had probably crashed.
A large panel on the side of the other spaceship slid open slowly with a terrible grinding noise and the Green Gatordile deduced that this spaceship was badly damaged. Suddenly from the darkness within, an enormous shape leapt into the light of the jungle. It looked like an enormous gun, fully charged and roaring as it spat laser blasts in the direction of the dishevelled band of humanoids. Behind the humongous gun was an even more enormous bear.
The humanoid aliens returned fire but the enraged gun-wielding giant bear, who appeared to be half robot and wearing the ragged remnants of pajamas, was quickly among them, swatting them down with its massive paws and blasting at them with its furious gun.
The Green Gatordile was unlucky. One of the laser blasts from the battle strayed his way, struck his shoulder and exploded. The Green Gatordile lay in great pain, quietly smouldering in the damp undergrowth. He heard the sounds of battle climax and then ebb away. He heard the sound of some mechanical clanking and computerised beeping. He heard the sound of metallic feet walking carefully over the soft jungle ground. He felt a sudden sharp scratch on his head and drifted into unconsciousness.
When the entity that had once been a male Green Gatordile awoke, it was in a spaceship and instead of its own body, its head, claws and tail now projected from the metallic exoskeleton of a dalek.
Cyberdile the Dalegator had been constructed.
By the way, if anybody is interested what the giant cyborg bear looked like…
This guy features in a computer game of the same name (check out wimpycat01’s work) and there’s a piece of evocative music dedicated to him 🙂
Yaay! The Hibernator rides again!
That can be a future level for wimpycat01’s computer game version 🙂
