Coco’s Travel Blog to San Diego, CA

The trip to the United States in January 2026 was not my most recent journey, but it left the deepest impression on me. Over three weeks, I visited Texas, California, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Connecticut. Among all these places, my one-day tour in San Diego stood out the most🤩

Travel Route🚏:Newport Coast, Los Angeles → La Jolla Cove, San Diego → Tuna Harbor Park → CocoBomb Dessert Shop → Return to Newport Coast.

In the morning, the Newport Coast was quiet, palm trees on the roadside swayed with the wind, and with the unique vibe of California, I stopped to feel the early morning at the seaside, and then drove to San Diego, which took about 2 hours. I first went to La Jolla Cove, the most famous scenic spot in San Diego. As one of the purest bays in Southern California, there is no pollution at all, and the sea water is very clear, showing a beautiful blue-green color. The bay is surrounded by sandstone cliffs, and there are many sea lions, seals and seabirds lying on the rocks. These sea lions are not afraid of people, most of them lie lazily on the rocks in the sun and occasionally stretch, which is very cute. I walked along the seaside trail, blowing the sea breeze and looking at the sea and sea lions in front of me, which made me feel comfortable.

After stopping in La Jolla Cove for about 2 hours, I continued to drive to the next scenic spot—Tuna Harbor Park, which takes about 1 hour by car. This park is located by the port of San Diego, which is not only beautiful, but also have a lot of historical significance. I first went to the “Victory Kiss” sculpture, this sculpture recreating the scene of a sailor kissing a female nurse in Times Square in new york at the end of World War II in 1945. It shows peace and victory. The sculpture is 7.62 meters high and very eye-catching. Then I saw the sculpture “The National Salute to Bob Hope & The Military”, which commemorates the legendary artist bob hope and all the soldiers who have contributed to the country. In addition, you can clearly see the retired aircraft carrier of the United States in the park, which is 306 meters long and very spectacular from a distance. It is very suitable for people who like military affairs to visit!

After visiting Tuna Harbor Park, we went to “CocoBomb” dessert shop in Linda Vista, San Diego. This shop has a lot of coconut-flavored desserts. What I recommend most is the coconut ice cream bowl. There are many flavors of ice cream, such as coconut, mango, Thai milk tea, pistachio and so on. Ice cream balls are placed in coconut shells with fresh mango pieces and coconut milk. Besides, coconut pudding and coconut mango glutinous rice are also delicious. Coconut pudding is very smooth, and glutinous rice wrapped in coconut milk is very delicious with fresh and sweet mango. The price is also relatively cheap, a 3-ball ice cream bowl only costs 6 dollars, and coconut pudding only costs 3 dollars.

We drove back and returned to the Newport Coast in Los Angeles in the evening. It was just in time for sunset, which dyed the sky and sea warm golden orange. I sat on a bench by the sea, blowing the cool sea breeze, I was in a very good mood. The sunset in California itself is very atmospheric, and there is a band playing the song “Castle on the hill” next to it, which is even more impressive.
