The National Grammar Bee Our school had never competed in the National Grammar Bee, but Dr. Terrett started an after-school club. He trained the team with crazy mnemonics and rap songs about predicate nominatives. Our team, “The Syntax Synapses,” made it to the state finals!

The Principal is Curious Principal Li popped in for a surprise observation. We held our breath. Instead of a boring lesson, Dr. Terrett had us reenacting a scene from a book using only emojis. The principal looked stunned, then broke into a huge smile. “Dr. Terrett, this is inspired!” she exclaimed.

Too Much of a Good Thing? He was getting smarter, and more energetic. A little too energetic. He started rewriting the entire school newspaper during his lunch break. He challenged the math teacher to a sudoku duel and won in three minutes. Our plan was working almost too well.

The Transformation Begins The next week was incredible. Dr. Terrett didn’t just teach grammar; he turned it into a superhero showdown, where Verbs battled Nouns and Adjectives were their flashy costumes. He started using funny voices for different characters in the stories we read. The whole class was paying attention, actually laughing and learning.
