A Rip in Mythology Chapter 4

Carter Kane 

 

I would’ve wanted to tell Sadie to stop, but she just wouldn’t listen. So now I’m in Russia, at the Magicians’ headquarters.  

I peeked inside, my wand ready.  

It was the moment of truth. If the magicians were there, we would be safe, but if they were not, everyone would be in danger.  

I opened my eyes and saw nobody.  

Great. We’re all in big danger. I ran outside, created a portal, and got to Camp—at least I tried to get to camp. 

I tried to create a portal, but it just didn’t work. I tried twenty times. On the twenty-fourth time, it finally worked. I stepped through the portal and shouted: “Chiron!”  

Everybody in the hotel looked at me oddly. Yes, I was in a hotel. The sign was “Hotel Valhalla. Free resources to train your fighting skills. The catch is that you have to be dead!”  

So I was in a hotel that supposedly was for dead people.  

How did I get in this mess?!  

So, I introduced myself first and said: “I’m one of “Percy Jackson’s friends.” Then somebody shouted: “I know you! You’re Carter Kane!”  

I almost fainted. How did this guy know me? Well, it turned out that he’s Percy’s girlfriend’s cousin. How very odd. Is it just a coincidence or is it fate?  

Well, it always seems that the mythological worlds were connected. Magnus told me that the mythological worlds were collapsing into each other, and if the monsters weren’t stopped, they would rip the mist apart and cause havoc in the world.  

Magnus brought me back to Brooklyn House. There we equipped the best weapons and wands and stuff. Only then did I finally manage to create a portal that led me to camp.
