In May 6 we have a discussion about ‘why travel’ quotes. Based on the quotes, we illustrated some develop opinions.
Travel help us learning new things and understand the world better, which is the main point we all recognized.
‘It’s really useful to travel, if you want to see new things.”Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love, an then return home.’……
And we all think that the challenges we’ll met in trip is precious to us, when we solute the problem, we can get some improve of ability. It’s kind of growing up. It’s the most efficient way to find our insufficient point, then get a better trying.
When we feel there’s a difficult that we don’t have the courage to face that during a journey, just remember that the whole life of ourselves is a long journey. There’s no challenges which we can escape for. “When you can;t go back, you have to worry only about the best way of moving forward.”……
Back to myself, this is the first time I join in a seminar game, and this experiance was really wonderful.
The best thing I did, is activley take part in our discussion and express my opinions. I’ve always been an introvert in any lesson, sometimes even saying “thank you” isn’t enough to be heard by others. Since joined in ELL, I’ve become less confident in my English language skills, which has made me more introverted in class discussions.
But, in this seminar game, I really made some changes to my attitude towards myself. I tried to express some points, such as ‘We need company because we’re not adults’ and ‘Suffering from bad environments is also a way to grow up.’ And I expressed it well!! (at least I think so : ) ) I’m so satisfied!! When you’re not confident, don’t assume that others will abuse you, maybe they will carefully listen to you and answer you.
And i need to apologize to Jushua cause i interrupted his speaking:(
Our lives always need courage, so don’t be afraid of anything!! Our lives are interesting journeys, so cherish it and do our best!! Yeeeeaaaaaahh!! 🙂 🙂 :).
That is a rewarding read. It is so positive! It is sad to hear that joining ELL has knocked your confidence, but I guess that is to be expected as studying English literature is such a massive leap from language acquisition class (ELA). It is very good news that you found the seminar session so motivating, even to the extent where you acknowledge having the confidence to interrupt one of the most confident speakers in our class 🙂 I also like how you label the seminar a ‘game’. That might be a good way for me to present it to less confident students! I might quote your article in my own research 😉
However, there are a few points you can improve:
1. Where you have used quotes, you need to indicate where the quote came from – the source of the quote.
2. There are quite a lot of grammar errors. Check these carefully. Does the wavy red line appear when you are writing? That can help you identify errors before you publish your work.
3. Use images to make your work look more immediately attractive to readers. in particular, try adding a ‘featured image’ as this will display in the blog listings and make your work look more attractive than other posts.
It is evident that we all need to express our thoughts and discoveries courageously and unhesitantly. I’m glad you realized the importance of confidence and speaking up when you have something to say. I agree that travel is valuable and precious and the other proclaimations you stated in your reflection. Keep going, and as you stated yourself, cherish your life, and do your best.
