Silly Poem: Seasons

Spring, the grass as green as lime,

Colors, flowers, shine in the sun.

Children playing in springtime,

Season of life, season of fun.

Summer, the children leave school,

Snacks include ice-cream, fizzy pop,

People have fun in the pool.

When summer ends, temperature drops.

Autumn (or fall as Americans say),

Golden leaves let go of tree.

The big gold leaf pile makes my day,

Children jump on it, stress free.

Winter, crisp white snowflakes fall,

Out come scarves, mittens, coats and things.

The wreaths and pine trees deck the halls,

People sit and await new spring.

You’ve got a pretty regular alternating rhyme scheme going there! Just wonder if you could use “temperatures drop” instead of “temperature drops”? Or could put fizzy pop into plural. Or is that extra ‘s’ intentional and signifying something for us to interpret 😉

I like how you complete the circle back to spring and the start of the poem to create the full cycle. I feel that’s quite important in a poem about the seasons.
