This was my first seminar of being the host and the leader. We talked about what our middle school experience was, which was very touching and everyone could relate to it. The experience of being the host had its pros and cons, for the pros, I could bravely talk to my classmates and introduce the questions on the ppt for everyone to talk about. I also got the opportunity to change some of the questions. For the cons, a lot of people wanted to express their ideas and their perspective on the questions, so we had to pick people to talk one by one. However, few students weren’t exactly on point, they were taking too much time and affected other people who wanted to talk. Once we try to stop them, they get defensive and start to get mad.
One question I liked the most was, how was your experience throughout your middle school journey. I came to this school in second grade. I spent a lot of time in this school and had many amazing memories that I will never forget. My PYP and MYP journey had a lot of ups and downs, many friends came into my life and many leaving year after year. Even though I think this school is not good enough, my fondest memories and me growing up are all in this school. This is my experience from this school.
I think for being a host I didn’t say any of useful comments, only reading the questions and calling peoples names out. I think I need to improve on my communication and the usefulness of my ideas and comments
A clear reflection. If I wrote a reflection on the seminar, it would have turned out something like this.
A minor language point: “peoples names” needs the possessive apostrophe (people’s).
