This seminar focused on identifying the key elements of a good blog post, like titles, images and writing style. What I found helpful was the way we looked at different examples and discussed them. It made the topic more concrete and I could see how small changes like a clearer title or a more relevant image can affect how a post is received.
The seminar didn’t rely on theories, which I think worked well for this topic. Instead of just listing features, we had to think about why something worked or didn’t work, and explain our opinions. It helped me understand that blog writing isn’t just about writing well, but also about thinking from the reader’s point of view.
Yes, a really useful experience that seminar! I expect blog posts will be one of the text types you’ll come across in high school too so this awareness will help.
