RefLectioN of An exciting sEminaR

last few weeks, we had a class discusion–A seminar about “why travel?”. Two students in our class prepared some quesions and asked forstudents discuss and response, the two students will write down their main idea on the board for our reference.

From my perspective, this seminar was pretty unseful and meaningful, because the main concept of this unit “travel” is very abstract. But we can better understand the concept of “travel” and learn how other students understand that through this seminar.  The seminar went on smoothly. Many students try their best to expressed their views, and some even gave in-depth answers, which represented that they had some thoughts on life and the spirit of adventure. Which is worthy of our learning.

During the disscusion, I remembered there’s many question, such as What are the challenges of traveling? Do you need other people to accompany you? What is the meaning of traveling? Questions like that. Some students mentioned that the meaning of travel is to discover difference and new things. The safety is very important also… Some students said that to be honest the biggest challenge is to take the first step of start a travel, start a new life. Be able to take risks is the most important and the haedest thing. I remember that a classmate also said  “life is actually a journey”, I agreew with that, because I had heard that there is a saying that people are always come alone, and leave alone. In a long life no one can be with you through every step of the way, so people always have to be ready to face everything along.

By the way, I had a similar feeling when I’m reading the book “hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy”. Traveling is not always a decision people make, or it may be because they’re forced to. Before the end of the world, although the author uses a humorous writing style, it can also be tell that the the main character is forced to cut all the connections and emotions on earth, which is actually very cruel, because everything in the past disappears in an instant.

Last, I think this topic is pretty good, hope next time I can try to say something…

  1. Your ideas are clear and I am pleased to see you reflecting on some of the philosophical ideas raised in the seminar and relating these to your reading of Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy 🙂

However, there are a lot of language errors in this piece. Check your work carefully and I think you will be able to find and correct most of them.
