This seminar is actually a meta reflection for our whole MYP journey that’s sadly about to end 🙁 I really like the questions designed by Tingkai and Thomas, they gave us a chance to ‘talk about how the school could be better run’. The question I like best is’if you could change one policy of our school, what would it be?’ For me the answer could be to allow us to use our phones all day or to allow us to go out and buy the food we like to eat for lunch. 😀 This means that we can now use AI to help with the brain damaging SAs andFAs. (which could be good for our mental health) For my second answer, students will be able to relax and wander around to relieve some of their pressure at lunch time, and it would also be more convenient for the school since they won’t have to prepare food for us anymore.
There were also nice reflective questions. We talked about our improvements starting from the time we started our MYP journey. Personally, I have started to become more and more extraverted, which earned me more and more points in the seminars.( I actually did pretty well on this one 😉 )
Anyway, it was really astonishing to find that it’s nearly the end of our MYP journey, I only just realized that with this seminar. It’s really nice to be in ELL, the things we do in class are way more fun than what ELAs do. We read books and talked about them in class and also made posters and did seminars. We also had lots of fun performing Shakespeare’s comedy ‘a Midsummer Night’s Dream’, but I certainly do NOT like the analyzing essays in that unit 😡 ( I believe everybody would agree on that). I really wanna thank Dr. Terrett for everything I’ve learned here, and also thank all my classmates for accompanying me throughout this difficult journey 😉
It’s really rewarding to see you join in the seminar more. I think you must have earned a PB in this one 🙂
Unfortunately, in the next step of your academic career, you’re likely to encounter increasing numbers of analytical essays of one kind or another. There will hopefully be some more creative activities too.
I’ve a question I meant to ask in the seminar about your suggestion for lunchtime – do you think the parents would agree? Personally, I’d be worried @Bilbo Baggins of the Shire would put on weight eating a load of candy every day 🙄 At least with the canteen, we parents can be pretty sure that most students aren’t going to be eating too much 😉
