I disagree with your point about more logical steps indicating a superior analytical value. The number of steps isn’t as important as the quality of each step – a sequence of basic logical steps doesn’t become sophisticated on the basis of the number of steps alone. Besides, if those steps are separated form the logic supporting them as you discuss in ‘change’ paragraph, it significantly reduces the impact.

After all, eating a sandwich requires many logical steps if you break it down, but that doesn’t make it analytically sophisticated.
