Joseph in Egypt- Biblical stories

The story of Joseph in Egypt

Joseph is the most beloved son of Jacob, and also the owner of the famous robe of many colors. Once he reported having a dream about his brothers, and even the moons and stars bowing before him, his brothers envision grew into action. His brothers, jealous of him, sold him for slavery to a traveling caravan of Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt and sold him to Potiphar, the captain of Pharaoh’s guard.

In Egypt, because of the Lord’s presence, he isn’t welcomed by Potiphar and the prisons guard. But, with God’s help, he interprets the dreams of two prisoners, saying one of them will be freed and the other one will be killed.Joseph then interprets the dreams of the Pharaoh, which anticipate seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Pharaoh recognizes Joseph’s God-given ability and prompts his promotion to the chief administrator of Egypt.

Jacob sent his sons to buy grains from Egypt, because they are shortage of food. One of Joseph’s brothers, Benjamin, stayed at home, because Jacob is afraid he’ll lose him the same way as Joseph.  When Joseph met his brothers, he hides his identity. He said they are spies and tells them to return with Benjamin or he will not sell them the food anymore.  The ongoing famine forces Jacob to reluctantly send his sons back to Egypt with Benjamin, and they are unexpectedly invited to dine at Joseph’s house. Joseph  tests the character of his brothers by placing a silver cup in Benjamin’s sack and accusing him of theft.  When Judah offers to stay in place of Benjamin, Joseph knows that his character has changed and reveals that he is their brother. Joseph explains they need not feel guilty for betraying him as it was God’s plan for him to be in Egypt to preserve his family.  He told them to bring their father and his household into Egypt to live in the province of Goshen because there were five more years of famine left.  Joseph supplied them with Egyptian transport wagons, new garments, silver, and twenty additional donkeys carrying provisions for the journey.  Jacob is then joyously reunited with his son Joseph.

Globalization

Joseph is a Jew and he went to Egypt. So even he went to Egypt against his will, he probably still spread some of his religions thoughts unknowingly. Even though I don’t know what religions the Egyptians believe in ( the answer on the internet is kind of vague ) but I don’t think they are Jews ( maybe a small part of them are ), so the Egyptians are actually also communicating their religion’s thoughts unknowingly.
