Prester John was a Christian ruler.
Prester John was a European legend, if he existed that is. He supposedly beat up a bunch of Muslims. He’s supposed to be a priest\king and very holy and all that. The legend was created during the crusades whatever that is, around the time where Christians brutally murdered Muslims. So much for the 7 commandments.
Prester John is supposed to be a linear descendant from the Magi. He tried to conquer Jerusalem but struggled to cross the Tigris River. Good job river! You protected the Muslims.
No the river didn’t entirely protect the Muslims. The bloodthirsty Prester John defeated some Persian muslim kings and maybe massacred them.

Anywho, our friend John here is a murderer. Don’t worry. It wasn’t only the Christians who killed people. Everyone at that time were all out for each other’s throats.
Especially the religious nutters.

Thing is, people can be very prejudiced. Some dum-dums might want to visit Prester John’s kingdom just because a priest told them the story or something. I guess not everyone prefers sunshine, a golden beach, coconuts and outdoor swimming pools over the land of a famous murderous nutter. Actually when you put it like that… People are oddballs. (emphasis on balls)
This whole thing connects to globalization because PEOPLE go travelling in the myth and not shows how people from different cultures interact.
