The MAGIC PEOPLE developed from a series of bilingual (English-Chinese) books that tell simple stories that appeal to young children and have educational content (e.g. teaching basic social skills, health and safety, environmental protection or cultural information). The two languages complement each other rather than simply serving up a translation so the child is encouraged to read both languages to fully enjoy the story.
万能人系列书籍通过使用孩子们喜欢的简短且有趣的小故事来达到一定的教育目的，比如，掌握基本的社交技能，有关健康及安全，保护环境和文化意识等知识。 这一系列书籍是中英双语书籍，不是传统地将一种语言翻译成另外一种语言，而是将中文和英文两种语言穿插整个故事当中，作用形成互补，让孩子们在阅读中自然而然地同时掌握两种语言。
The characters emerged through play with the author’s young children and the stories were derived through particular playtime experiences or on an educational need basis. The idea is that the characters and stories will become increasingly complex as the author’s children grow and mature (but hopefully we can maintain the simple brightly coloured zany cartoon style without over-complicating the visual design).
书中的人物故事，有的来自于作者陪孩子们玩耍时的亲身经历，有的是基于某个特定的教育目的而创作的。随着孩子们的成长，书中的人物故事也会随之变得更加生动，丰富。
