In this seminar, I and Nicolas were the hosts. We were required to ask few questions to help students to better understand the clash of cultures and should we adopt the culture or change it. We made three questions, first is about, if the culture of one new country is bad, should we try to change it or leave it just like before.
So, the question is if the culture of the country is bad, should we adopt it or change it. From my point of view, I think that it depends on your ability, if you’re a person who is very ordinary, then you can’t effect a lot of people there, which means the effort you make is no use, the people who you effect on would quickly become what they are like before. You may also cause a lot of issues that your ability can’t deal with, and definitely not helping with your future in this country. You may recieve people’s arguing and mock, and they even may harm you this person. So, you can’t simply just telling everyone doing this culture that they were wrong. You need to have the ability to persuade them, and have the authority to affect more people. Culture was made for hundreds of years and it can’t be broken easily. So, compare your own and the whole country, you would know that you can’t change it. But, it doesn’t means that you need to adopt it, you can use your own lifestyle, but don’t questioning on other’s culture.
I think I improved in this seminar, I tried to speak a little bit and listening to other’s opinions, I also didn’t interrupt the class. So, I really make progress!
You didn’t interrupt the class 🙂 🙂 That is indeed progress!
Your reflection is clear enough but a bit minimalist, and not such dynamic language.
