OK here’s chapter 3 please give. like if you want chapter 4.
3
Annabeth Chase
And Percy took forever to come back from his trip to see my cousin Magnus. It was more of a trip than to help them fight the dracaena and other monsters, but I would call it a trip to visit because I want to go too. After all, Magnus’s my cousin!
But at least I did something useful too. Here’s what happened.
Chiron called me to the big house to tell me news. Important news. News that the mythological worlds were breaking and merging together. That’s how I knew that Magnus was seeing legions of dracaena falling from the sky. Chiron told me to pack up my stuff and meet with the hunters at precisely 11 in the morning the next day at the volleyball fields.
The hunters took me off to meet Sadie. Yes, Sadie from the Egyptian world. Carter wanted to be there too, but Sadie might have “accidentally” pushed him through a portal that took him to who-knows-where. Maybe he’s trying to fight his way out of Apophis’s stomach right now, or maybe he’s giving the astronauts in the space station a big scare. Who knows?
Let’s get back to the topic. Sadie told us that magicians were appearing in the Greek world. She told us methods of defeating them and sending them back to her. You had to hold your weapon the way you would hold a plate. Then the magicians would see this as an offer to give your weapon to them, making them lower their guard and drop their staffs. Then you could violently chop off their head or use your abilities to bind them and make sure they don’t wreck stuff.
At first, we all thought that it would be fairly easy, but they were spread out everywhere. Apparently, one even teleported into Olympus. It took a long time for us to spread out everywhere and trick them, but after some saw a fellow wizard have his head chopped off, they didn’t believe in the trick anymore. This was the hardest battle after The Battle of Olympus after they realized there was a trick.
I thought of another maneuver. As the hunters rounded them up, I crashed straight into them, swinging my iron swords that I took from the armory. This way, I could kill tens of them at once, but there was still a catch: we were told to stop them from ripping apart the void between mythological worlds, but if I killed them, then we wouldn’t be stopping them. We would be harming them.
We had to act fast. The magicians were breaking through our defenses. We were thinking of a way to stop them when they created a hole in our lines. Sadie came through a portal and told all our troops to follow her. She cast a spell that froze the magicians and created a portal that took us back to camp. ‘
Chiron was there when we went back.
“How did it go?”
We all turned our vocal cords off.
“Oh no. This is bad.”
“Why?” We asked at the same time.
“If they are not stopped in time, this could cause a rip in the mist. The mist was a veil that cloaked mythology from the mortal world.” If what Chiron said was true, we would all be in danger. What’s more, the mythological worlds could collapse and cause major destruction in the world.
Good story! The idea of the three Rick Riordan story worlds is awesome. I’m not familiar with Magnus though, but I’m definitely a fan of the other two worlds.
Advice: Be aware of the timeline system, since its really confusing really. Percy knows about the Egyptian world and the Kane siblings, as shown in the Son of Sobek sequels. The time of that is right after the Percy Jackson & the Olympians books and the Kane Chronicles. And of course Magnus Chase is Annabeth’s cousin. Also Chiron is in contact with all the other deities from Rick Riordan’s other stories, hinted in the Trials of Apollo:The Tower of Nero, in which Chiron went to a meeting about “a severed head and talking cat”
Yeah I almost every story written by RR. What class are you in and what’s your name? We should have a little talk.
No, I take that back. We need to talk. I’m Andrew from 6.6, E201 and you’re welcome to come find me.
Chapter 3 remains intriguing, but I’m less clear who or what some of the things you refer to are. In particular, could you add a brief gloss to where you introduce ‘the hunters’ and ‘the magicians’ to give us a little more information about who or what they are? I’m also wondering if the dracaena are plants or are they also some kind of mythological creature? Maybe you need a sentence to provide disambiguation. I am also interested to know where your heroes are now. Are they in the rift between mythological worlds that you describe or still in Manhattan?
Is Sadie the Sadie from Rick Riordan’s “The Kane Chronicles”? I’m not familiar with those books, but it popped up when I searched for ‘Sadie Egyptian mythology’ 🙂
A suggestion for a future episode: Maybe we could learn more about the portals and how they work?
And finally, I hope you enter the library’s story writing competition! 🙂
Hi Dr.T (i think you are), yes, this is Sadie from the Kane Chronicle, and it’s wonderful to see that people are reading my writing. ( •̀ ω •́ )
