There isn’t much for me to add except to say that I am impressed how you maintain the tone throughout, and I particularly like the reference to “adorable little mosquitoes” and the fact that “we also learned a lot of new information, most notably how the leg joints function and what the most effective method to damage them is”. The image works quite well alongside your writing. I wonder why it makes a line break in the middle of the paragraph. We’ll have to ask ruaruarua how she managed to include images without that happening.

In “I am regarding a recent trip ” I think you mean ‘referring to’, ‘recalling’, or ‘recounting’ rather than ‘regarding’.
