Session 2: Shapes & Proportions

Welcome to session two. In this session we look at proportion by breaking objects into smaller shapes.

This was the process for this session:

  • We prepared our drawing space and found ourselves a toy to act as our model. Toys are static (we used ones that didn’t move) which makes them easy for practice.
  • We looked carefully at the toy and discussed the different smaller shapes that made up the toy from our perspective.
  • By drawing each shape we identified, we gradually constructed a drawing of the original toy.
  • Repeat with different toys.
