If only two words were allowed to use to describe the trip to Hangzhou, I would say “happy” and “horrible”.
The first day was always happy. We went to the XiXi wet-land park. The serene beauty of the tranquil lake surrounded by lush green forests was a sight to behold! We walked through the fragrant blooms and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in movies. The river was twisting and turning through the green fields. After we went deep into the woods, there were big, white houses standing near us. In front of the house, a cat with blonde fur sat on the bridge. One of my friends cried: “What a lovely little kitten she is!” Some of the students even took pictures of her and came to her side, touching her head. I took a picture of these wonderful scenes and kept it in the storage box of my mind using my eyes.
At night, I slept with my 8 other friends. We boiled instant noodles and squeezed each other on the small balcony eating the noodles together. Although the appetizing smell could not disappear and we did sleep very late, this was the first time for me to experience this. I did things that I have never done before. The sense of freedom came to my heart.
However, horrible things happened. On the last day of the trips, I could not stop crying when I reached the top pf the mountain. We had to do hiking the whole day. The stairs we climbed were so many so my knees hurt badly. In addition, there was a strange smell which made me feel so uncomfortable that I nearly vomited. I borrowed my friend’s phone and called my mom. Surprisingly, my mom thought it was a good way to exercise my perseverance, a totally different perspective from mine (hiking is useless). This made me related to what Atticus had said in the novel “To kill a mockingbird” : “She was. She had her own views about things, a lot different from mine, … I wanted you to see what real courage is…According to her views, she died beholden to nothing and nobody. She was the bravest person I ever knew”. Therefore, this time, I tried using different points of view to value things and that’s why I finally stuck with it.
The trip not only gave me happy memories but also power to preserve and not give up. I started to use different perspectives and learn new things from that day on too.
I liked how specific you described your feelings and thoughts 💋
Oh, and I would like to add that you have a very effective hook at the start of your blog post 🙂
I agree with the other comments that the photos enhance your writing. As soon as I opened the page, the big photos give me a positive feeling. I also like how you have positioned the photos on different sides of the page to break up the layout a bit. It makes the layout interesting to look at, a bit like a magazine. It is also great to see you adding a reference to our reading into your work. Your experience with different perspectives is supported very well by the allusion to Atticus.
Note that there are a couple of minor errors here:
This made me relate
dto what Atticus had said in the novel “To kill a mockingbird”no space here: “She was….Clear points you made there, fascinating story telling. I also liked how you added some of the photos about our hike.
