“Wonderful” Hangzhou Field trip

From 4/22— 4/26, our school OCAC, went from Suzhou to Hangzhou for a field trip. Before the trip, many of us were not very excited about the trip because of an announcement made by the school:” In one dorm–“What we are living in dorms??”–there are going to be 10 people per room.” After the teacher finished the sentence, the classroom immediately became noisy. Everyone was discussing loudly. We were all really mad with the school, and lots of us were saying:” I’m actually not going to the trip anymore.”

However, as the day arrived, none of us were absent. The bus trip to Hangzhou was pretty fun. Everyone was sharing snacks and chatting happily. Everything was fine until we got to the lunch place. We all thought we were going to the big hotel, but instead, it was just the small restaurant next to the big hotel. The food was no good and the spoons and bowls were very dirty. Our stomachs were really upset and when we remembered we still had 7km to walk in the afternoon later in Xixi Wetland Park, we were even more upset.

Xixi Wetland Park was a really pretty place, but the weather was wet and hot. My friends and I chatted with the teachers finding out that they are really different from school, which was pretty fun. After finishing the long and tiring walk we were all very sweaty. When we got to the resting place, we saw someone who bought ice cream and knew that there was a KFC. Suddenly many of us ran to the shop and brought back all kinds of stuff. Ice cream, Boba tea, Coke…

At night, when we got to the place we were staying, we really were upset. We were all tired, but we all still had the energy for instant noodles. I could not get to sleep because of the creepy dorm, plus the bed was as hard as a hardboard.

If you want me to talk about the best thing that happened on the field trip, it must be tea leaf picking. I didn’t know which leaves were good enough to pick at first, but after some learning from the local tea leaf pickers, I picked out a bunch of leaves. One of the tea leaf pickers gave me a lot of tea leaves.

This day I actually can call a happy day. After finishing picking the leaves we went down the tea mountain and rested at the foot of the hill. There was a shop there, and I bet this day was the day they sold the most stuff ever. Everyone went into the store bringing all kinds of stuff like ice cream, drinks, and snacks out. No more people could fit in the shop!

However, happy days never last long. The time arrives for the last day of the trip. Even though everyone was saying they wanted to go home, this trip was actually a pretty fun experience and gave us a chance to escape away from all the studies and work.

This trip to Hangzhou gave me good memories I will remember forever, even if I had to sleep on “hardboard beds”, even if I had to eat lots of “not-so-tasty” food, and even if we had to shower right next to each other. I’m looking forward to the next trip like this one.

  1. Perhaps you could add a photo or two of your experiences to better engage the reader.
I like how you don’t shy away from stating the things that upset you but that you keep your report balanced and also celebrate the things you enjoyed. It feels genuine.

  2. Good typeface, that makes your passage more organized like an article. And also the interesting things that you experienced through the days in Hangzhou are really vivid. I could emphasize your feelings and emotions through your words.
