I love the idea of hostile hobbits with acorn arrows. When I was young I used to play role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. We would often start our adventures with ‘You were walking through the countryside when ‘POOF’ you suddenly appeared in [some other more dangerous place]. The beginning of your story reminded me of those days 😆
